Restore 1130

What is Restore 1130?

Restore 1130 reimagines community engagement. Pathway Forward, Inc. is housed at 1130 West Lexington Street in Baltimore, Maryland. The building, built in 1863, has been home to the Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church since July 1902. Pathway Forward launched its community engagement at the height of the COVIC-19 pandemic from the first floor of this 161-year-old building. The building has not undergone additions and renovations to adapt to the current period.

Restore 1130 is a project initiative to bring the building and its grounds up to today’s safety codes while improving the aesthetics and functionality. The beauty of the architectural design will be preserved for future generations as we continue to provide services for our community.

Why?

We want to leave a legacy for future generations. Our mission to build the human, social, and physical capital of Baltimore City will be enhanced by the restoration of the fellowship hall and the upgrade of our kitchen to a workforce site commercial training site.

We have partnered with the Baltimore Ravens, United Way of Central Maryland, and the Maryland Food Bank to provide services that help sustain members of our community.  Pathway Forward wants to provide quality engagements moments in a welcoming space. Our neighbors and residents in surrounding areas deserve what we have to offer and so much more.

Pathway Forward does not take lightly the responsibility of assisting our neighbors. We treat every person with respect and dignity. We connect folk with resources so they can work, find housing, provide food, or connect with newfound friends within our space.

Our space is used for the public good. In addition to Baltimore City agencies holding townhall meetings, the University Maryland Medical System and Morgan State University’s CARES Center for Urban Health have conducted health and wellness education sessions at 1130 West Lexington Street. Pathway Forward, Inc. is a participant in the Baltimore City Resiliency initiative. In the event of a natural disaster, we are a trusted, frontline, service-based community organization the City’s disaster response team counts on to assist with relief. We help distribute resources and provide access to items such as drinking water, emergency food, phone charging, and timely information.
